[There's a staticky blur of green and red on the screen, and then it shakes like someone's tapping the side of it. The irate, muttering voice that comes through is decidedly not Ivy's.]

Oh for the love of - you'd think the future would be a little bit more intuitive? Come on -

[The picture clears aaaand Shego will be recognisable to anyone who was around before August. She's not really looking older, but decidedly healthier than she did on the Barge; her hair's pulled back into a thick braid and she's wearing a red jacket with a gold Star Fleet insignia on the collar. She looks bewildered for a moment, glancing away from the camera to look at recent transmissions, and her eyebrows lift in recognition.]

Oh. Oh, hey.

[She looks back to the camera and smirks, leaning back in her chair a little.]

Hey, kids. Never thought I'd be around for one of these from this end. How's my very favorite flying rehabilitative facility?

...aaand sorry to whoever's update I just totally ruined, I guess.

[OOC: Ivy's purposely staying away from this event except to creep on other people's messages so have Shego!haxx instead. B| Having said that, do let me know if you want Ivy for anything and I'll make her available!]

If you wanted a cheerleader you wouldn't be talking to me.

Look, for all my moaning and whining at the time, Kirk wasn't a terrible Warden. He challenged my dumber ideas and he was there when I needed him. That's my point. This isn't your show - it's hers. Putting your foot down and getting territorial when she's got a screw loose isn't gonna help.
mightymorbid: (that's not fair!)

Did I sound like I was looking for one? I wanted to talk to you because I wanted to talk to you.

And 'territory' wouldn't be an issue if I weren't second-guessed at every turn. It's enough that now I'm doing it.
gotgreenmagic: (according to this you are a dumbass)

All I can do is tell you what I'm hearing, okay?

Your inmate screwed up big time and it's made her crazy. You just said flat out that you can't trust her and you can't help her right now.

That sounds to me like it's gonna be a stalemate until somebody else gets involved, so, what is the problem with other people trying to do exactly that?

Let me put it to you this way: Your Inmate does something seriously wrong. Kills somebody, for instance.

You determine the consequences for that. Loss of privileges and no palling it up while they're in zero because you didn't send them down there to hang out with their friends.

Another Warden decides your decisions are stupid and does something else with them anyway.

Do you get angry, or do you assume someone else just needed to get involved?

Furthermore, what do you do the second or third time this happens?

Can I assume that this [fingerquotes!] 'hypothetical' situation has actually happened recently?

Feel free to assume what you like.
gotgreenmagic: (not this shit again)

Content is important, y'know. If my Inmate had killed someone just because they cut in the lunch line or whatever, then if I'd hypothetically sent them for a week in solitary and someone decided not to let them happen then yeah, I'd be angry.

But if I'd hypothetically decided to isolate my traumatized, possibly deranged Inmate in Zero for however long, for a murder that she maybe committed for reasons that may not be all that rooted in reality, and another Warden decided that waiting out a psychotic break is not the best idea I'd ever had?

Yeah, I would assume someone else just needed to get involved.
mightymorbid: (you really think that)

Who said anything about "waiting out a psychotic break"?
gotgreenmagic: (just skip to the part where you lose)

You did. 'Lost her head in the literal and metaphorical sense'? 'Thinks I'm a monster'?

Oh, and I have seen her network appearance. She's, what, hallucinating down there?
mightymorbid: (brooding)

I hoped it was mostly caused by the port and that with time and rest it would start to wear off.

And yes, 'thinks I'm a monster.' I told you she got hold of my gauntlet.
gotgreenmagic: (maybe that was a lame idea)

[personal profile] gotgreenmagic 2012-11-09 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. But 'monster' is still a leap unless there's some seriously shorted fuses happening.

[She exhales slowly.]

These other Wardens. They're doing this out of concern for her, right? It's not just because they don't like you?
mightymorbid: (impatient)

[He knows it would be too easy to just claim it's because they don't like him.]

...It's just hard to believe you're doing things right when it seems like nobody else thinks you do, either.

I want to do what's right for her. I wanted to save her.

I know. I get it.

Look, the last few months have knocked a lot of 'smug moron' out of me. Not that I'm not totally acing all my classes or anything, but the Academy's also about teamwork and diplomacy and all that junk, you know? Everyone here is among the best at what they do, so, it follows that a lot of people here are jerks. Part of the work is learning that there are things here bigger and more important than your own pride.

And what I can take from that and give to you is that if so many people think you've got the wrong idea that you're starting to doubt it yourself, maybe now's the time to start asking why instead of digging your heels in.
